Dr Eleanor Janega is a medieval and early modern historian and her current research focuses on the conceptualisation of sex and its influence on society in the medieval and early modern period.

She specialises in sexuality, propaganda, apocalypticism, urbanity, and empire, in the late medieval and early modern periods. She holds a PhD in History and an MA in Medieval Studies from University College London, and a BA in History from Loyola University Chicago. She teaches at the London School of Economics. She has written for History Today and her first book with Icon Press, The Middle Ages: A Short Graphic Guide came out in 2019.
