Cable Street Mural, Cable Street, Shadwell, London, UK

Unnamed London Greater London

Tom Bolton examines the huge, brightly-coloured mural on a building off Cable Street in Shadwell, East London. The mural commemorates the events of a day in 1936 when locals, many of them Jewish, battled police who were defending a way for right-wing Blackshirts to march along the road.
